This Bumble of Bees, is made up of about 150 white tailed bumble bees which have been reverse painted and gilded in 24kt gold leaf and silverleaf

Bumble Bees are the largest, hairiest and gentlest of all the Bees. Their tiny wings beat more then 130 times per second to keep that body moving from flower to flower. You can read more about Bees over on my BLOG

Each of Danni’s pieces are original, unique and produced by Danni from start finish here in her studio. Each piece is inked, painted and gilded on the reverse of toughened glass. After completion the piece is flipped over to reveal the artwork through the glass This piece comprises of a single layer of reverse painted and gilded glass which is framed in a bespoke 40mm wood frame with slips separating the glass from the backboard, creating shadows and playing with the depth of perception to create an almost 3D quality. These shadows can move and dance across the backboard when the piece is in natural light, like in a lovely bright room , but will look equally as good under spots or in any well lit space. Once evening comes the these pieces take on a whole new aspect as the metallic leaf radiates its own luminescence. .
